I'd say he's coming along very nicely. I love his color and face! I love Poncho...he seems so sweet. Mumzie Check out these champion Peruvian Pasos at Rancho Chahuchu http://www.horseflyfilms.com/video/chahuchu.html
Amanda~ I just went back and read all your "Poncho" posts. I am very intrigued by this fancy little breed..along with the Paso Fino. My mare is 17 this year also and I'm trying to think ahead about what I might want in a trail horse. Horse Illustrated just did a big spread on gaited horses and I really liked those two breeds. I have horrible knees so I'll be curious to see how your experience goes with Poncho!

About My Blog
When the world seems like it is going to Hell in a handbasket it helps to remember there is great beauty and humor to be found. I try to find something beautiful to photograph everyday and share it with you who are interested. I hope the photos will bring you happiness and assurance that we still live in a wonderful world.
About My Photographs
I consider myself a hunter of a different sort, Beauty and wonder are my prey. Nothing is hurt, lessened, deleted, or wasted. No pain or tears or sorrow. Something beautiful that lasted for only an instant, is caught and shared for all to see. My rewards are much greater than meat on a plate or horns on a wall.

About Me
Amanda Barber
Central Washington, United States
I am the second of 4 children raised in a small town in Louisiana. I now live in Central Washington State after spending several years in Montana. I describe myself as a sentient being who is part cowgirl, part hippie chick (left behind the day I became a mother but still have the memories), part tree-hugger, and I have an interest in fashion and girlie things. My concerns are over-population, cruelty to animals of all kinds, the destruction of wildlife habitat, and the destruction of our beautiful planet. I am married to my best friend Ron who is a native Montanan and have a 20 year old son named Cody, 3 dogs, a golden retriever named Joanie an ancient Pekenese named Cyndy Lou, and a young pekenese named Sophia. I also have a beautiful Missouri Foxtrotter named Red-neck Annie and a 6 year old Peruvian Paso named Poncho. I enjoy riding them down the trails. I also enjoy fishing and driving the golf cart for my dear hubby and of course I take my camera where ever I go.

He is so cute! Their gait sure looks odd from the front, I had never watched on coming at me directly before.
I think I might have said this before but your photos are beautiful.
I don't know anything about horses, other than I have a dog that thinks he's one. Anyway, gorgeous horse and a unique gait/walk.
Do a search of Peruvian Pasos on Youtube and it will blow your minds how they move.
He is so cute! I know that riding one of those horses is really smooth as silk, lucky you!
