Bird Photography Weekly 45 American White Pelican, Gulls and Terns

I saw all these sea-going birds all sharing a little spit of rock and sand in the Columbia River in front of my house. I kept saying not one more bird will fit, yet they kept flying in and landing.
To see more birds all over the world please go here.

Great photos. Pelicans are so pretty when they are flying, we have several flocks around here that I love to watch.

These are wonderful birds. I love Pelicans!

Pelicans are so funny. I once passed an area of the Oregon coast that had a huge boulder sticking up out of the ocean. It was so completely covered in Pelicans that you couldn't see any rock beneath them! ;)

What beautiful, crisp images of the pelicans and terns, Amanda. I can't believe these were taken on a river in Washington -- I would've sworn they were from right down the road here on the Texas Gulf Coast. (Although we do usually get a few more Brown Pelicans than these gorgeous Whites, especially this time of year.) Anyway, loved your post. It makes me want to pack up the clan and head for the beach!

We don't get Pelicans here in Maine, so it's always a treat to see great images of them such as yours!

Looks a bit like one of our local city council meetings - but the birds are better looking!

Haha, they are quite crammed in there, aren't they? I love the two open-bill shots.
