Jodi has been telling me about this beautiful barn she knew of and thought I would want to photograph out towards Teanaway. We finally grabbed some time to drive out there and she was right!! Wish I knew it's history.
Wow, that is a beauty and in such a lovely setting. i love these old barns. They have a character about them and almost seem mortal at times. Great find
wow amanda ... i will detour to get this barn on monday july 13 around 4:00pm after a meeting in yakima. i don't need to see another customer that day so i would go here and then on to ephrata after. any chance you could send me directions? do you know the owners? can you walk the property? reminds me of jackson hole. thanks. nikonsniper steve
What an enthrallingly lovely place! Both the barn and barnlet are so beautiful and tell such a story of hard work, as does the lovely post and rail fence. It is amazing how well these old structures fit the landscape and most things built of concrete make the earth scream in pain.
Amanda your blog is one I really look up to and love visiting. I have been wanting to ask you for some time what camera you use as I seem to be outgrowing my Nikon. Don't worry about posting the award as yet, I know life deals out lessons when we least expect them and all that is important just now is to get Ron well again. You know I keep both of you in my thoughts and heart. Hugs..

About Me
Amanda Barber
Central Washington, United States
I am the second of 4 children raised in a small town in Louisiana. I now live in Central Washington State after spending several years in Montana. I describe myself as a sentient being who is part cowgirl, part hippie chick (left behind the day I became a mother but still have the memories), part tree-hugger, and I have an interest in fashion and girlie things. My concerns are over-population, cruelty to animals of all kinds, the destruction of wildlife habitat, and the destruction of our beautiful planet. I am married to my best friend Ron who is a native Montanan and have a 20 year old son named Cody, 3 dogs, a golden retriever named Joanie an ancient Pekenese named Cyndy Lou, and a young pekenese named Sophia. I also have a beautiful Missouri Foxtrotter named Red-neck Annie and a 6 year old Peruvian Paso named Poncho. I enjoy riding them down the trails. I also enjoy fishing and driving the golf cart for my dear hubby and of course I take my camera where ever I go.

Wow! Very beautiful and romantic!
:))
Beautiful barn doesn't begin to describe your picture. I love it!
Wow...right out of the old west! Love the split rail fence too!
Marvelous piece of history and great capture. Why not check county records for past land ownership.
I like the fence around it too. Such a nice setting.

That is gorgeous! I can practically see the homesteaders out doing their daily chores and all the animals they must have had. Great find!
